Self-sinking weighted air hose — the airline that stays on the bottom
Thick-wall PVC with a weighted core, so it sinks on its own and stays put without stakes or bricks. Smooth inner wall for low pressure drop, good cold-weather flexibility, and safe in fresh, salt and waste water. Rolls from 10 to 500 ft in 3/8", 1/2", 5/8" and 1", or buy 3/8" and 5/8" by the foot.

Mystic Koi’s take
3/8" is right for most backyard koi ponds and all MEA Pro kits; go to 1/2" when runs pass 100 ft or you are feeding an MDB22/24, and 5/8" or 1" for Hakko 150–250 and MPC compressors. Two stainless clamps per barb, always.

Can I join two pieces?
Yes — the 3-section hose menders (straight and tee) join 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8" hose.
Does it float when new?
No, the weighted core sinks it immediately; uncoil it in the pond and it settles on the bottom.
