Marine-grade 316 stainless (not 304) vessel, 316 stainless electrical control box, one to six high-output amalgam lamps, and an individual electronic ballast for every lamp — so if one goes down the rest keep the pond clear. Built-in lamp indicator lights and a resettable LED hour meter tell you exactly where your 13,000-hour lamps stand (9,000 is the industry norm). Priced against the plastic units it replaces, with a lifetime warranty on the vessel.

Size by flow, not just gallons. A UV only sterilizes water that passes it slowly enough — match the unit's max gph to your pump, then check the pond guide. For stocked koi ponds we like ~20 W per 1,000 gal and about one turnover per hour; water gardens get by on ~10 W per 1,000 gal. The H80 is now standard on KoiKeeper and PondKeeper systems; the HD160 on PLUS and PLUS PRO. H-series units are in stock at GC Tek and ship promptly.
